I Pray for You and Wish I Could Do More

I pray for you and wish I could do more,
But more I cannot do from far away.
Like leaves before the wind we cannot stay,
Ripped dancing, dancing to the forest floor.
I wish I could your ailing health restore
And bring you to the strength of yesterday,
But all we mortal souls can do is pray
That God might alter what we have in store.
The beauty in our fragile life is love,
The only thing that makes the moment matter,
The golden thread that binds us all in light.
I wish, I wish I could your pain remove,
But like a wall the truth my will must shatter,
And so I send my prayers into the night.

Thank You for Your Friendship and Your Love

Friendship Poem

The day I met you
I found a friend -
And a friendship that
I pray will never end.

Your smile - so sweet
And so bright -
Kept me going
When day was as dark as night.

You never ever judged me,
You understood my sorrow.
Then you told me it needn't be that way
And gave me the hope of a better tomorrow.

You were always there for me,
I knew I could count on you.
You gave me advice and encouragement
Whenever I didn't know what to do.

You helped me learn to love myself
You made life seem so good.
You said I can do anything I put my mind to
And suddenly I knew I could.

There were times when we didn't see eye to eye
And there were days when both of us cried.
But even so we made it through:
Our friendship hasn't yet died.

Circumstances have pulled us apart,
We are separated by many miles.
Truly, the only thing that keeps me going
Is my treasured memory of your smile.

This friendship we share
Is so precious to me,
I hope it grows and flourishes
And lasts unto infinity.

You are so extra-special to me
And so this to you I really must tell:
You are my one true friend,
My Guardian Angel.

Our friendship is one-in-a-million
So let's hold on to it and each other.
We cannot let this chance of pure bliss fly away
For there will never be another.

I love you.
I will always love you.
Friendship Poems

Friends are one of the best things you can have in this world. You can't have enough friends, and everyone needs a special friend or two with whom they can discuss everything and be themselves. Sometimes friends disappear for some reason, and we wonder why. We still feel the need to communicate. Such was the case with John. He had lost touch with his special friend and asked me to compose a verse that he could send, hoping it help bring the two together. I sent my poetry questionnaire along which helps in creating the poem.

Here is a sample from that verse:
You're Still In My Heart

It simply amazes me
That I think about you so
Sometimes when I wake up
You're on my mind gung ho.

No matter what you look like now
You're still deep in my heart
I wonder if it's a good sign
Or if I should depart.

I guess it's that I miss you so
And know not what to do
Maybe you're just really scared
To see me and talk anew.

Whatever way you feel
I think 'tis good to get it out
Please let's get together
Perhaps we'll have dinner or carry-out.

I know we'll laugh and have some fun
We both need that for sure
Give me a call when you get a chance
For a love like ours will definitely endure!

My New Best Friend
True Friends are hard to come by. Your first true friend should be yourself.
Enjoy this poem about friendship & pass it on to your friends.

Today I met a great new friend
Who knew me right away
It was funny how she understood
All I had to say

She listened to my problems
She listened to my dreams
We talked about love and life
She'd been there, too, it seems

I never once felt judged by her
She knew just how I felt
She seemed to just accept me
And all the problems I'd been dealt

She didn't interrupt me
Or need to have her say
She just listened very patiently
And didn't go away

I wanted her to understand
How much this meant to me
But as I went to hug her
Something startled me

I put my arms in front of me
And went to pull her nearer
And realized that my new best friend
Was nothing but a mirror.

Retold by Kimberly Kirberger
Friends

A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.
